An Arch Question

We need a curtain solution for the windows in our 1930's Bungalow. In both living room and bedroom two narrow arched windows flank a larger arched window at the center. We would rather not cover the arches with curtains. Do you have any suggestions?

THERE is precedent for a pleated treatment of fabric to cover the arched part of a window, using a flexible rod at the top, and a straight rod beneath to hold it in place. The problem is that this permanently covers the round-top sash. A better solution for you might be a curtain treatment that leaves the upper sash exposed. Try running the rod at the mullion below the arch, and hang curtains only over the straight, vertical sash.
